On Saturday, 1^st August 2026, the IEEE Region 10 Young Professionals UpSkill Bangladesh 2026, a day-long flagship professional development programme supported by IEEE Young Professionals Region 10, was held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). The programme was jointly organized by IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), BUET, and the IEEE Bangladesh Section. The event brought together students, young professionals, academics, industry practitioners, and technology leaders to provide participants with valuable exposure to professional development, emerging technologies, innovation, and industry-oriented skills.

The program was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations through a series of keynote sessions, seminars, workshops, panel discussions, networking sessions, and competitions. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including career planning, artificial intelligence, VLSI design, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, and engineering ethics. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Emamul Hassan Bhuiyan, (Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section), Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz (Advisor, IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh) and Engr. Shohel Rana (Chair, IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh).

The Innovation Challenge Competition was held as a key segment of the program. Teams were evaluated based on innovation, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and the potential impact of their proposed solutions. AIUB students achieved remarkable success in the competition. Mr. Md. Reduwan Ahmed Jihan (AIUB), along with students from BUET and PUB, became the Champion among 13 participating teams with their proposed idea, “Real-Time Pain Detection System for Non-Verbal Patients.”

Another team, featuring three AIUB students, Mr. Tazbid Hasan, Mr. A.M. Sakibur Rahman, and Mr. Md. Nahiduzzaman along with students from BUET and PCIU, secured the 1st Runner-Up position with their proposed solution addressing “Climate Change and Green Technology.” Meanwhile, Mr. Arizit Chaki Artha (AIUB), along with students from BUET and Eastern University, secured the 2nd Runner-Up position with their concept, “TokenGuard-NLP: A Token-Level NLP Architecture for Detecting Fabricated, Inconsistent, and Unsupported Research Content.”
