The Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), AIUB, successfully organized a three-hour workshop titled “Workshop on Design Thinking 101: How Real Apps Are Built” with the support of AIUB Computer Club (ACC). The workshop was designed for students of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), aiming to provide them with practical exposure to User Experience (UX) Design and the design thinking process used in developing real-world digital products and applications.

The session was conducted by Mr. Md. Imran Uddin, UX Designer, Customer Facing Platform, Grameenphone Ltd., and an alumnus of AIUB. Drawing from his professional experience in the technology and telecommunications industry, he shared valuable insights into the fundamentals of UX Design, design thinking methodologies, user-centered problem-solving, and how UX principles are applied in the development of real-world applications.

Throughout the workshop, around 40 FST students actively participated in a highly interactive and hands-on learning experience. Rather than focusing solely on theoretical concepts, the session allowed participants to engage directly with UX Design practices and experience different stages of the design process. The hands-on activities enabled students to explore how ideas are transformed into user-focused solutions and gain a better understanding of the role of UX Design in building effective and engaging digital products. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the practical nature of the workshop and actively engaged throughout the session.

The corporate guest and AIUB alumnus were received by Mr. Md. Javed Tariq, Director, Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to make the most of opportunities that connect academic learning with industry practices. As a token of appreciation, the Director of OPA presented a token of appreciation to the speaker in recognition of his valuable time, expertise, and contribution to the workshop.

To acknowledge their active participation, participation certificates were awarded to the students by OPA. The certificate distribution further recognized their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the three-hour workshop.

The initiative reflects OPA’s continued commitment to enhancing students’ career readiness by creating opportunities for practical learning and direct engagement with industry professionals
